INVOCATION TO NATURE
These days a lot of things have been going on in nature. Some are positive news while some are negative. Climate change, forest fires and a lot more have taken their toll. But each of us human beings can contribute for the reversing effects of climate change.
Nature is the best teacher of all. We learn a lot from nature. We get all our resources from nature. Due to the diversity in each of the ecosystems the world is beautiful, interesting and fascinating. So it is our civic duty to protect this paradise. As said earlier, each and every human being can contribute, here are some interesting things we can do during these covid time.
i) Waste segregation: We can keep two dustbins at home. One can be for food waste or in general any bio degradable waste and the other for non-biodegradable waste.
ii) Composting: (for apartments) This thing only requires an air tight bin so that oxygen cannot penetrate, coco peat and compost maker. What I do at home is to spread residue of tea at the bottom, then throw the food waste and finally scatter compost maker. Very fine compost is collected out of it.
(for houses with courtyards) A pit can be dug at a comfortable place. The depth of the pit must be about 30 cm. Then coco peat, or compost maker and bio degradable waste can be thrown in there. The pit has to be left closed for the next 2-3 weeks and then home made organic manure.
iii) Paper recycling: Anyone can do this at home. This is a very simple and easy process. First paper pulp has to be made in a grinder. To do this one requires waste paper and a bit of water. Next the pulp has to be collected and put in a tub. A frame is required for the next step (its thickness must be less, a lid of any container would do perfectly). The frame can be of any shape. The pulp has to be spread the on this frame evenly. Then a towel has to be laid below the frame and the frame also has to be covered with another towel. This then has to be ironed. Once ironed, it can be let to dry or can be dried using a heat gun or a hair dyer. This paper can then be used for craft. Another optional thing is that colour can be added when making the pulp.
These are few thing which I highly recommend doing at home during these tough times. These activities can keep one cheerful and hopeful.
Thank you for reading.
